Ford Repair: air conditioner, probable cause, air conditioner
QuestionI inherited a pickup from my uncle. He had not used the air conditioner in the three years he owned it. I had the ac charged since it was not putting out any cold air. For two months the ac worked fine when I occassionally used it but now it is losing cooling power. Any suggestions as to what repairs might be needed and the possible costs. Thank you.
Answerrepairs needed would vary-first year/make/model of truck would have helped as far as most probable cause and estimate of repairs
as always first may be a leak-depending on what is leaking later models have more compressors leaking earlier models evaps were a problem
again cost depends on a lot of different thing and your area.
most compressor/orifice/accumulator replacements are in the 500-700 range.
have it charged and checked then go from what you find.
