Ford Repair: 1997 ford explorer transmission, steady traffic, luck chris

While driving in steady traffic at about 60 mph, my truck started to whine very loud and started to slow down. when I pushed on the gas peddle the engines rpms went up, but the vehicle would not go. Could this be the transfer case or are we going to talk a new transmission

hey there, i dought this would be a transfer case proble, check the tansmission fuid, if it is black and smells burnt then there is something worn on the inside of the transmission. i would have the transmssion control module scanned for internal codes, it may be cheaper just to have it rebuilt, good luck
