Ford Repair: 2000 Ford Explorer / Door ajar light, door latch, wd 40

The door ajar light has recently come on and stays on.  I have checked and all doors are closed.  Also auto door lock will not work on driver's door.

Hello Janet, There is a door ajar switch that is in the door latch, a diagnostic would tell which one as long as the light is on when diag. is performed. try spraying a lube like wd 40 into the latches of the doors and open and and close them several times, dont be shy with the lube.
