Air/ smog pump. what is it, where does it go, and what does it do? I recently
moved from utah to california.  I had my motor rebuilt in utah where i didn't
have to have emissions tested. I'm in california and was told I have to have it
before they even start the test.

You have several parts to install. First, you need to buy a smog pump, from you're local parts store. Yo may also need to find brackets for the new smog pump. A new belt of course, to turn the pump. There were 6 different engine sizes for the truck that you listed. Providing it is not a Club, etc. etc. You need several parts, the best thing you could do is go to Advance Auto/or Western Auto. These guys will have a book/catalog that diagrams you're pollution control system. Good Luck, you have you're work cut out for you.
