Ford Repair: no power in my ford ranger, interference engine, ford ranger
QuestionI broke the timing belt on my 96 Ford Ranger. I replaced the belt and lined up all the timing marks and now it idles rough and has no power. I checked all the timing marks again and they are all good and I checked to make sure the number one cylinder was at TDC. I checked the compression on all 4 cylinders and it is all about 120psi. Do you have any other ideas??
Answerthat is not an interference engine so no damage should have been done when belt broke-if it was running good before belt broke if everything is ok it should be running good now may need a professional to line belt up it happens we use to get five or six a year where the customer thought and even swore everything was in time only to find it was slightly off but was relieved when they found out that's all it was.
