Ford Repair: Squeal when tires rotating, ford windstar, ford dealership
QuestionI recently took my Ford Windstar to the Ford dealership for them to check front and back brakes. They relined front and back, and turned rotors. When I picked up the van while driving squealing was coming from tires when they were rotating.not from the rubber. I took it back to Ford they inspected it and couldn't find the problem, they said they took it for a test drive and couldn't hear anything(they may have a hearing problem) Do you know what it might be? I took it for a drive on the highway and it's worse. There was no squealing before I took it to Ford.
Answersounds like it might be one of the clips slightly touching especially if it gets worse when turning-could be pad material that is if it is brake related-hearing problem good possibility if the one who drove it is over 35-40 years and male-you may already know this but it is normal for some men to lose a range of high pitched hearing i know because i lost mine and checked into it found its normal and hearing aids won't help. the way i found out was listening for a brake noise a lady was complaining about i couldn't hear it but my technician could and said it was loud. kinda wierd knowing it's there but can't hear it at all so i always take a younger tech when test driving noises. sorry for the long explanation
also be sure its not a belt squeal-roadtest with the tech when you hear it see if he does if not get a younger tech to ride with you that shouldn't bother them if they are interested in making sure your brakes are ok and want to keep you happy.
