QuestionQUESTION: I purchased my van December 2007 it had some jerking so I had a full oil change, radiator flush, and changed the gas over to premium. For a while everything was ok. Two months ago I noticed that my coolant reservoir was filled with black gunk. I took it to get flushed I was told they flushed it 3 times and there was still residue. Can you help me defer what the problem is.....please!!
ANSWER: Let's just hope that it's not oil. You aren't losing oil, right? How often do you have to add a quart?

QUESTION: yES, IT IS OIL! I'm starting to notice a pattern of every 2-3 weeks I end up adding a high mileage oil. So where does this leave me? Someone told me it was my timing cover....What do you think it is? And what suggestions do you have?
AnswerI think you have a blown gasket. Either an intake gasket or head gasket. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
You will just have to tear it down, but I can assure you, it is one or the other. I don't know how I could have been of anymore help to you. Quite frankly, I am surprised that whatever place you had do the flush didn't tell you. It fairly obvious. Loss of oil, black "gunk" in the coolant.
