Ford Repair: Ford 4.0L V6, losing coolant, coolant loss

Hello James.  I have a 2000 4.0L V6 in my Ranger pickup.  I have been noticing the smell of coolant, along with coolant loss.  There are no visible leaks.  The truck has 61000 miles and has been impeccably maintained.  Where do you suggest I look for this problem?

Check under the passenger side floor mat to make sure the heater core isn't busted.What you will have to do is inspect the car while it is running.Depending on how often it is losing coolant will determine how long you will have to watch the truck idle.Also,when you are looking under the hood,look for any moisture,a tell tale sign of a busted hose.
