Ford Repair: 1996 Ford Mustang Headlight Voltage, beam voltage, ford mustang

Question
When my car is running at 1500-2000 rpm what should my low beam voltage be? My headlights are dim. I get about 12.2 at the bulb and my battery voltage at the battery is 14.2

Check the connector at the headlamp switch, I have seen some that melted from heat and caused headlamp problems/
With the engine running you should have similar voltages at the headlamps and at the battery. Are you checking the voltage with the headlamp plugged in or disconnected? There may be a bigger difference with the headlamp loaded.
