Ford Repair: 99 ford ranger ac, pressure switches, refrigerant pressure
Questionmy ac is full of freion but the compresser cuts on and off i was wonder what could cause that a buddy said the pressure swicth could be bad be cause it runs when you first cut it on
AnswerA cycling compressor can be perfectly normal. Some vehicles do that to regulate the refrigerant pressure. If the A/C is cold, I would not worry about it. If it's not cold enough, it could be low on refrigerant (the only way to know would be to evacuate and recharge the system) or it could be OVER-full. Yes it is possible that a bad switch could be doing that, listen for a "click" from the high and low pressure switches to see which one is causing the compressor to cycle. Hope this helps,
