Ford Repair: installation 98 windstar right front axle, cv joint, couple times

Question
I have the new axle in place but can,t seem to get it to seat in the transmission there is no place to tap on it without damaging the boot do you have any suggesttions

ok this is the way i do it i grab the outter cv joint by the threads, and hold the center of the shaft and pull back and push forward fast like u are throwing it in it may take a couple times to do that ,
