Ford Repair: keyless entry fob, auto wrecker, private shops

Hi
We purchased a 2002 Ford Escape.It only came with one keyless entry.
I have an extra one from a 2003 Malibu.
Can I get this reprogrammed,or do I have to buy a new one from Ford?
What about a second hand one from an auto wrecker or online? Thanks!

Hi Barry,
        The keyfob for the Malibu wont work on the Escape, sorry. I know everyone hates the dealer, but I would definitely buy it from them and have them program it for you. Most private shops don't have the equipment/information to accommodate your needs, as it is fairly technical. Good luck sir!  Shaun.
