Ford Repair: 1989 F-250, tank leaks, gas tank

My front tank leaks fuel around the filler neck after driving but not when sitting still. I have trouble putting fuel in at the pump and takes forever due to some kind of vent problem I guess. What do you think? My gauges float around like crazy and never seem accurate. How can I fix this also?

Brent, the first thing I would do is check the hose and make sure it is not busted.  How long have you had the truck?  Did someone lose the gas cap and stick a rag in the filler hole?  Something might be clogging the hose.  It definitely sounds like the gas tank is not venting properly and building up pressure.  I would try to solve this problem very quickly because you obviously do not want to over pressurize your gas tank.  Do a thorough inspection and look for a clog.  Good luck,   Jason
