Ford Repair: 2005 mustang govnor, blowing smoke, governer
QuestionI know that a governer for a car usually to keep a speed of a car governd but my buddy tells me that when he took his out he gained like a 100 hp. Really i think he is just blowing smoke up my ass but u never know with cars now a days so i thought I'd ask.
AnswerEvan-
Ummm...yeah, he's lying to you (or he doesn't have a clue what he's talking about). All a governor does is limit your speed...it has no effect whatsoever on horsepower. He could be talking about having the computer tuned which can show you a decent gain in power, but generally no more than 20hp or so. Hope this helps.
