Ford Repair: brakes, square tool, auto shops
QuestionI have a 96 ford probe that we are replacing brakes on. Do you know where I can find out how to push the piston back in to put the pads on? The auto shops here said that we had to have a small square tool to doit. We bought it, but thats not right. Where can I find outto to do this?

Actually the shops are right. You need a small ratchet adapter to screw the pistons back into the caliper. The tools themselves aren't universal, but they are usually equipped to handle the more popular applications. Just ask the people at your local parts store what size you need...I'm sure they've got the right tool. Hope this helps.
