Steve can I take a newer model suspension from a car in a junkyard such as a 1988 mustang LX or GT and bolt it to my 1970 mustang fastback

  As far as I know that won't work.  Don't quote me on that, but I've never seen or heard of it being done and I can't see how it would fit.  There are companies out there making suspension upgrades for early Mustangs and they'll get the job done better than a stock style late model setup.  Hope this helps.
