Ford Repair: Brakes, caliper pistons, ford escort
QuestionI have a 98 Ford Escort. I just replaced my front brake pads. I have bled the lines about seven times, but my pedal keeps going to the floor. I have no leaks in the lines anywhere. Could there be another problem?
AnswerThe most common cause of loss of brake pedal, without external fluid leakage, is a problem in the master cylinder.
Are the pads installed correctly? Are the caliper pistons stuck? Did you turn the rotors? Do the calipers stick on the bracket or move freely?
