Ford Repair: System too lean, fuel pressure gauge, mass air flow
QuestionI got a Ford Contour saying the system is too lean bank one and two. where can i get PIDs scan to find out exact problem? or what should i do to find out problem
AnswerFranklin,
These codes mean exactly that, running lean. You gotta figure out why. First check for vacuum leaks and a cracked air intake tube. Any air leaks around the mass air flow will cause a lean condition. Also the MAF sensor hot wire could be contaminated with dirt. Next, get a good fuel pressure gauge and check the fuel pressure running and under a load driving. Should hold 32-35 idle and around 40psi under heavy throttle. If none of that looks bad, try replacing the Oxygen sensors as they only have a life span of 5 years or so.
