Ford Repair: How do I find out which 302 engine I have?, engine id, aod

Question
Spark plugs are too short to match this year VIN '85 302 AOD CFI. So I must
have a different motor or heads since it takes longer threaded plugs. Under
the rocker cover there is a metal plate with number 7K22 and also a Ford
Stamp.
How do I find out which engine or heads I have?

  The engine ID is actually on the rear of the block on the passenger side, right next to the starter.  For the heads...that's a bit harder.  The location varies from year to year, but you should be able to find it on top of the head near the valves.  Hope this helps.
