Do you know if there is a recall for a 2002 ford taurus front strut the spring broke  thanksvk806

  I'm not exactly sure of this, but I seem to remember Ford doing a recall on the springs themselves.  Something about how their protective coating could wear or flake off and allow the spring to rust and break.  Their fix for this was, of course, ridiculous and they decided to install spring shields that didn't keep the spring from breaking, but protected the tire if it did.  I can't quite recall what model years were covered under this deal, but I'll bet yours is.  Check with your local Ford dealership.  Hope this helps.
