Ford Repair: Alternator Charging, charge indicator, fuses
QuestionI recently had a problem with my mustang 302 alternator charging the battery. I was told in another post that if the fuse to the charge indicator, or the bulb, or the wire to the indicator is bad, the alternator will not charge. I cut the wire to the charge indicator under the hood and hooked it up to a 12v source that only supplies voltage when the ignition switch is on and the alternator started charging my battery. Besides the obvious problem of not having a working charge indicator in the car, will this setup create any other problems?
AnswerI dont think it will cause any problems,, but then again it might,, its really hard to say.. To be honest with you, I wouldnt have started to cut this and that, most wires, and fuses are their for a purpose.. See how it goes,, and let me know.. Thanks...
