Ford Repair: brake shoes, center hub, brake shoes

hi im trying to change the brake shoes on my 97 escort and havins trouble getting the bearing off. i just read your advice to the chap with the 2001 escort who was having the same problem are my bearings the same as his?

Hi Elaine,
Remove the wheel then remove the 2 screws holding the drum on, then pull drum off. If rusted you may need to tap on it to break it loose. You dont need to remove the center hub and bearings to replace the shoes. GOOD LUCK!
