Ford Repair: 99 expedition abs lights on!!!, vibration problem, abs light
QuestionHi! I own (well financing still) a ford expdtn. 2wd EB. Sometimes when im driving the abs light warning sign comes on. When I turn off my car and turn it on again its gone. Once in a while it comes back and I have to do the same thing. Also when Im going on a high speed and brakes suddenly my car is a little shakey when I brake. I hope its nothing bad and wont cost me an arm and a leg to get it fix. Thanks
AnswerHi Erick,
The only way to tell why the ABS light is on is to "pull the codes" from the ABS computer. It takes a special tool only your mechanic has. If you want to take a chance, it is usually the rear ABS sensor that is mounted in the rear end. The part is about $35 and takes about 10 min to change. It has 1 elec. connector and 1 bolt holding it in. (center/top of rear end housing)
The vibration problem is your front rotors. Have them machined and replace the pads if low.
