Ford Repair: 1996 ford ranger xtra cab, door latch, xtra cab

when i close my door the car thinks the door is still open and the light stays on and the beeping noise will not stop.  its very annoying, how can i stop it from beeping?

Hello and thanks for the question...I'll try to help.
It sounds like the switch is bad or un-lubricated in the door latch asymbly. Clean the latch with brake clean and then apply a lubricant (PB Blaster, WD40) and try that...other then that....you'll need to remove the latch and replace the switch.
