Ford Repair: Bi-headlights dont work, Escort87 Wagon, haynes manual, head lamps

Hi, Erik,

I got problem with healights in Escort87 Wagon, here is the situation after checking, as:
1. Fuse works,
2. Lights (low & high) work well,
3. No electricity came to the low beam lights, while hi-beam lights work well.

The low beam lights used to work one time after I checked the light dimmer switch. However they died after I tried low / hight beam function 3 or 4 times.

Can you please advise to locate the problem, and also where I could get the sketch of light dimmer switch?

Hello and thanks for the question...I'll try to help.
 I would start tracing the wires back from the head lamps on the low circuit, to find where you are losing voltage. Use an Ohm meter to check the wiring harness at the head lamp switch.
As far as a wiring diagram goes, you should be able to go to your local parts store and pick up a Haynes manual that will have it in it.
