QuestionThe website you recommended states to "Secure the regulator in a vise and drill a hole thru the regulator and the plate". How can I secure something in a vise when it is still in the car? What is the "regulator and what "plate" are they talking about?
Thanks again,

Question -
Two of my vehicles have windows that are stuck in the up position. They are a 1994 T-Bird and a 1998 F-150. My Chilton manual for the T-Bird says take it to the dealer. For the truck it warns of the danger from the counterbalance spring.
I have replaced window motors in other cars before, but I need help with these. Can you give me the procedures for both?
Thanks,
Jack

Hello and thanks for the question...I'll try to help.
Use this link for the T-Bird:

As far as the truck goes, I would bring it to a shop for repair.
Hope this helps,
Erik

They are talking about the whole asymbly being out, on the bench/vise. If you remove the lift motor and the regulator is spring loaded, you might lose a hand or fingers, if this precaution is not taken, and it "un-loads"-----BE CAREFUL---if you don't feel comfortable with this procedure, please bring it to a garage and have them do it.
Hope this helps,
Erik
