Ford Repair: cd 6 changer /dash console cover removal, arrow heads, radio face

2002 Ford Explorer
I need to remove the CD 6 changer/radio so that I can install a new one. I think the plastic dash cover that goes around the cd unit, and the a/c controls has to be removed first. I can't figure out how to do that. Thank you

Hi thanks for the question.I'll try to help.
If I remember correctly, there should be 4 holes, two on each side of the radio face. IF there are, stop right here, and get yourself a radio lock removal tool. It will be a U shaped tool, with little arrow heads at each end. Insert the tool, apply slight outward pressure and remover the radio.
