2003 explorers 4x4 in dash lights flicker on and off occationaly while driving is this a serious prob?  what can be done?"

There is a problem or percieved problem in the transfer case or its electronic control system.  Vehicle should be taken to a FORD dealer as the concern may be related to a software upgrade.  If the vehicle is outside the 3 year 36000 mile warranty expect to spend from 80-150 dollars for the software upgrade.
