By the way its in a nice f100 . thanx, john

I believe it's 5 qts. but it could be 6. To tell you the truth I don't think I've ever actually worked on a 360. I'd put 5 qts. in and start it up for a minute or so then shut it off, let it sit for 5 or 10 minutes, and check the dipstick. If it looks a little low I'd add another quart. As for the intake...it certainly could'nt hurt with the right carb. I'd go with something in the 600cfm range with vacuum secondaries. Either a Holey or a Carter. As for the cam...again, it couldn't hurt you, but cam selections for 360s can be hard to come by. I believe Comp Cams makes some good grinds so you may checkout their website. They've got excellent tech support. Without a set of heads and in a heavy truck, I'd go with something mild that had an emphasis on low end torque (unless you want to hit the drag strip with the truck). Hope this helps.
