Hi steve    I,m restoring a 68 Mustang. Someone at work told me about MSD ignitions. what is it and how does it work......

  MSD stands for multiple spark discharge.  It uses a special ignition control box to deliver multiple sparks to each plug to fire the cylinder.  This is better than just a single, longer spark since it burns off fuel more completely.  It doesn't increase power, but it keeps the cylinders cleaner and helps keep your plugs clean.  Hope this helps.
