Ford Repair: New car, car cd player, imagination and time
QuestionI just bought myself a new car! It's not new, of course, but it's my first car and I'm a little excited. I don't know which category to ask this in, but hopefully you'll be able to help.
I bought a 1993 Mercury Sable and want to find minor ways to jazz it up a bit. My first thing I was looking at was a car CD player. What do I need to know for buying one? Or will all radios work if someone installs them? I found a few nice ones for under $70 I'd like, but I don't know if they will work with my car.
Other than that, maybe a steering wheel cover would be nice but that's the extent of things I can think of. What other cheap accessories can I add to the inside/outside of my car?
Thanks!
Aaron

The only thing you'll need to know about CD players is their size. Almost all Fords have standard sized players which is known as a DIN player. There are slightly larger units known a "DIN and a halfs" and even largerunits twice the normal size known as "double DINS" These two larger ones are usually found in GM vehicles or cars with both a tape and CD player in the dash. I think your Sable is just the regular DIN model. As for other accessories...I don't know what to tell you. Personalizing and customizing a car is all about your unique tastes. That's half the fun...taking a plain old everyday car and putting your imagination and time (and usually money) into making it something that's uniquely your own. Hope this helps.
