Ford Repair: Hello. I have a question...., mercury mystique, ford contour

Hello.
I have a question.  We have a 1995 Mercury Mystique, and we need a engine for it.  We found a 2000 Ford Contour engine, but we are not sure if it will work.  Both engines are a 2.5 Duratech V-6 24 valve DOHC.  Will this motor work?  If so, what kind of changes would we have to make?  If nothing else, would the block work?

  The engines should be almost, if not entirely, the same.  The Mystique and Contour are basically the same car with a few badging and interior differences, so it's should be a direct fit.  The only thing I can see being a little different would be the wiring.  So as long as you use the Mystique's wiring you should be fine.  Hope this helps.
