What it the usual compression ratio for a 5.0 I got out of a grand marquee and plan to put into a mustang?

  Most Grand Marquis actually recieved the 302...the 5.0 is designated a 302 HO.  Depending on the year it could be a 5.0, thiugh.  Again, depending on the year, the compression will range from about 8.4:1 - 9.0:1.  All depends on the type of motor and the year it came out of.  Hope this helps.
