Hi I have a Honda crv automatic transmission when i put in reverse it starts grinding and will not go anywhere is the transmission salvageable or is it completely gone?

Well, there is no way to know for sure without being there, but it doesn't sound good. You could have it rebuilt, but I would probably go with a low mileage used transmission. This will probably give you the most for your money.
You could also get a brand new one put in but that would cost much more.
