Honda Repair: Gas door repair, flat tip screwdriver, pop the trunk

I own a 2001 Honda Civic and when I push the lever down the gas door doesn't pop open. I know there is a cable that needs to be looked at but I am having trouble locating the pop for the gas door that is supposed to be in the trunk. Any idea where it is?

1. - Pop the trunk

2. - On the drivers side remove the inner clips

3. - Pull back the liner at the top to expose the inner trunk

4. - Reach your hand in behind the stiffener panel and locate the release plunger

5. - Turn the plunger 90 degrees counter clockwise to release the door.

Thats your only option unless you wanna bust out with a flat tip screwdriver and pry open the door. I recommend the directions above.
