Honda Repair: 2001 Honda EX Check Engine Light, scan tool, spark plugs

My Civic's "check engine" light came on and hasn't turned off for a few days now.  I checked everything from spark plugs, air filter, and all fluid levels.  Do you have any other advice on what to check before we have to take it into a dealer?

Have you noticed any changes in the cars performance? I would try disconnecting the positive terminal on the battery for 30 seconds to see if it resets itself. If not then I would take it to the shop and have them run a scan tool on it. Good luck I hope it resets itself.
