Honda Repair: 2000 Honda civic, spedo, honda civic

speedometer will not go past 20 miles per hour.  Car runs fine.

is it an electric spedo or a manual drive spedo?
If its a elecronic spedo drive it will be the pickup on the gearbox located around the differential housing, pull it out and start your car in P or Neutral and wind the sprocket with your fingers and if spedo doesnt move that is your problem( replace ) and if its a manual one Replace whole spedo cable
