Honda Repair: sports indicator light, indicator light, honda accord

i have a 1991 honda accord LX. the sports indicator light has been coming on by its self, without pushing the button  on the gearshift. have to then shift drive it. i have to take the battery cable off to reset, to drive in automatic.  if i try to push the button on the gear shift it wont work, (to get s indicator light to go off.) can you help me with this problem. oh yes i also had my transmission fluid changed to see if that would help. and it didnt.      thanks pam

1990-1991 Accords were bad about the transmission controler failing causing the s light to stay on and it to not shift.  $600 for this controler unless you are lucky enough to find one that works used.  It must be 1990-1991 as they removed the s light function in 1992.
