Questionhi...
i have an '88 honda prelude si.
mechanic replaced the blower motor & switch 300 miles ago in mid-March '05. i've barely used it.
it's now making a loud rumbling sound... louder as the fan speed is increased.
also, when the mechanic replaced the blower motor, the a/c doesn't blow cold anymore.
did the mechanic botch? is it something else?
i hate going back to the place & they end up saying it was, 'whatever', & try to charge me. he/they did a couple repairs/inspections & were OK. then the last time we were pretty unhappy & we told them...
thnx for ur opinion & any insight,
frank
AnswerFrank:
On the one hand, if you feel uncomfortable with the mechanic, find another one. On the other hand, as a mechanic if someone waits until September to tell about a problem that was fixed in March I would wonder why it took so long to report the problem. So you should understand the mechanics point of view. The problem with the A/C not blowing cold air may not be related to the repair, when the A/C is not used or used very little they have a tendency to loose Freon and that could be your problem. I'm sure the problem with the blower is related to the repair.
Hope this helps.
