Honda Repair: Blown Head gasket, blown head gasket, valve job

I have a 1998 Civic which has a blown head gasket.  How much should I expect to have it fixed? How many tech hours is it typically? How much to machine the head?  Is a valve job typically necessary also.  What can I expect?

The cost should be in about the $400 to $600 range. I don't have access to the tech hours it would take. You can check with a machine shop and they should be able to tell what it would cost to machine a head, I would expect that to be about $100 to $200. Once the head is off you should be able to tell if you need to have a valve job depending upon the shape of the engine.
