my sonata starts and idles for about 5 or 6 seconds and then shuts off. seems like its not getting enough gas or loses fire

Hi, Bruce.  If you have the 2.4L four cylinder engine, this is consistent with camshaft position sensor failure.  If you can, I might suggest checking the diagnostic trouble codes to see of you have any consistent with a camshaft position sensor failure.
