my power steering fluid leaks when I turn the wheel to the left. is this the pressure hose or the suction hose

Hi, Kim.  It'll be impossible to tell for certain whether the fluid is coming from the pressure or return hose without visibly seeing the leak and identifying whether it is coming out of the pressure or return line.  If you can see the fluid squirting out with significant pressure, then it's very likely that it is leaking out of the pressure hose.
