Hyundai Repair: purge valve hyndae santa fe 2.7l, santa fe 2, intake manifold

Is there a way to test valve....? Im certain it has failed..just want  to know if there is a test procedure?Symptoms are ,after i put gas in car dies or smells flooded...i have valve off...any home remedies...Thank You..Jason

With these symptoms, it's likely the valve is stuck open.

Under normal operation, the valve is closed unless commanded open by the engine control module (ECM).  To test, simply remove the purge hose from the intake manifold and see if you can blow into it (or, if you don't mind sucking fuel vapor, suck on it).  You should not be able to suck or blow any air.  If you can, the purge valve is stuck open.
