Hyundai Repair: crankshaft pulley bolt, air impact wrench, hyundai santa fe
QuestionI have a hyundai santa fe 2002,2.7L engine, front wheel drive.I am replacing the crankshaft pulley and I am not sure if the bolt is right or left thread. Also what would be best to loosen it with.
AnswerThe bolt is a standard right and thread-- so it loosens counter-clockwise and tightens clockwise.
The simplest way to remove is with an air impact wrench. If you do not have one, you'll need to wedge a screwdriver or similar instrument in the torque converter teeth to keep the crankshaft from turning.
