QUESTION: Where is the Transmission Filter located on the 1999 Hyaundai Sonato 6 cylender

ANSWER: Hello Gary,
It has 2 filters. Only one of them servicable. Underneath the upper radiator hose , there is a screw type transmission filter (Similar to the engine oil filter). Second filter is inside the transmission and only accessable during overhaul.

QUESTION: I still can't find the Transmission filter the car is V6 not a 5 cylinder does that make a difference in where it is located?

Hello again,
During 1999 , Hyundai cancelled the external transmission filters. If you can not find the filter at the location I described earlier, that means your vehicle falls into that category.On all models from 99 to current, they do not have external filter.
