My ingestion check light came on  sat and will not  go off I have  check everything on my car to see why its on and cannot figure when I did a self diagnose check on my car I could not find any reason for it to be on. can you be of some assistant why its on and what I might need to do for it go back off

If your check engine lamp is on, you should have one or more trouble codes stored in your engine control module (ECM) or transmission control module (TCM).  The possible reasons for the check engine lamp are coming on are so many that I'll need the trouble code to guide you in diagnosis and repair of your problem.  AutoZone and AAMCO have advertised they'll check the trouble codes for free.

Can you tell me what you did as a "self diagnostic check?"  I wasn't sure whether this meant checking for trouble codes.  If there were no codes in the ECM, it's likely that you have a transmission related issue.
