QuestionQUESTION: 2002 Sonata. My dash clock flickers occasionaly from dim to bright very rapidly.
Is this a simple fuse problem or something more serious?
Thanks
ANSWER: If the clock is coming on, it's definitely not a fuse issue.
The clock is designed to dim whenever the parking lamps are on. It achieves this by receiving a signal from the parking lamp circuit. If the parking lamps are operating normally, then the issue is almost certainly in the clock itself.

QUESTION: Ah, I know for a fact that one parking lamp is out. Would this be a possible cause?
Thanks again...
AnswerNot if it's only one lamp.
The signal to the clock is fed directly from the tail lamp relay. There's a remote possibility of a problem in the wiring between the relay and the clock, but I've seen enough clock problems to know that the probability of the clock being the issue is very high.
