QuestionSo I need to replace both? I understand that they are both in the tank or otherwise hooked together, but can the filter be replaced without the pump? Or is it worth the $250 to just do them both?
Also, is this accessible from under the back seat (seen this is an option in some of the other posts) or is it an under the car job?
Thanks - you've been most helpful, Randy

Car starts fine but may stutter slightly when accelerating, goes fine for 4-5 miles then stutters and cuts out and will not restart for 1/2 hour or so, then will run fine for another 4-5. This just started and has happened 3 times in a row leaving me stranded. Been suggested that the fuel pump is heating up and essentially vapor locking. At $200 for a pump, I don't want to replace unless this is more than likely the cause. Nearest dealer is 30 miles away for diagnostics. I habitually run the tank to about empty. Has about 70K miles. Any insight or other possibilties? thanks
