Isuzu Repair: Timing chain, isuzu pup, head gasket

Question
We recently replaced the head gasket on a 1986 isuzu pup with a 1.9L gas engine.  Now it will not start.  We believe the timing is off. The specs for the replacement of the timing chain are different in two books we had.  So, what we dont know is   -   if the No. 1 piston is at TDC  Where should the cam be?

P.S. at that point the distributor is lined up As per both manuals.

Go online to 4x4wire or any Isuzu chat room and they will have the correct specs for you. I don't. you can also call the Isuzu main office and ask them to email you the factory specs. I know they will because the have doine it for me many times.
