Jeep Repair: fuel related problem, jeep grand cherokee, jeep grand cherokee limited

2001 jeep grand cherokee limited 4.7L v8   if u are not pushing gas pedal truck will cut off as long as u are barely giving gas truck runs perfect. could this be fuel filter only?

I don't believe this could be a fuel filter issue as Jeep has not used an external filter in some years. What you may have a problem with is the butterfly valve in the throttle body. Go out and buy a can of throttle body cleaner and while the engine is running spray the cleaner into the throttle body. Then shut the engine down and use a clean rag to clean the valve and throat of the throttle body. This should help quite a bit.
